FAQ

How long does it take?

Depending on the size of your system, access to roof, steepness of your roof and fall protection requirements, cleaning can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours.

Do I need to be home?

Not necessarily just as long as we have access to your roof and permission to work on your property

Why do I need to clean my panels?

Solar panels work from the energy coming from the sun, in the form of photons These photons are very tiny, if the panel has dirt, dust or salt buildup on them, this blocks out the energy from the sun, stripping you of the energy that you can be harnessing, causing you to lose money that you could be saving. Solar panel cleaning helps you to generate the most electricity from your solar panels.

How often do I need to do routine maintenance?

Cleaning and inspection of the system is recommended once annually.

What if there is a major problem with my system?

We will notify the customer immediately and will be given a series of possible solutions to the problem that was found. If there is a serious problem with a system such as a wiring issue or any major issue that can be a hazard to the customer, the customer is immediately notified of the issue.

How do I know if my system needs to be cleaned?

The easiest way to know is if you have never had your system cleaned and inspected since it has been installed. There is also a variety of other indicators, such as if you live near a high traffic area or in rural areas where the panels are more than likely to collect dust

Will I be able to tell if my solar panels are dirty by looking at them?

If there is a significant stain on them, such as bird droppings then yes you will notice them. A lot of the time it is tough to tell because there is an even layer of dust and dirt. Sort of like when you wipe a finger on a car and then you can compare it to the rest of the car do you realize how much dirt build up you actually have.
